To extend a speakON cable, you need a straight-through adapter, as the two ends of the cable always consist of female connectors and it is not possible to plug them together as with XLR cables, for example. For this purpose, you can get the NL8MMXX from Neutrik (R), for example. The adapter is made of sturdy die-cast zinc and comes with two male sockets and is only suitable for 8-pole speakON. This adapter is also available for the 4-pole version.
